State Tourism Department launches ‘Bengal Himalayan Carnival’ to promote tourism in North Bengal

Siliguri, 28th February: The Himalayan Hospitality and Tourism Development Network is organizing the 4th Bengal Himalayan Carnival to promote tourism in North Bengal and the hills. On Wednesday, members of the organization provided this information at a press conference held at the Siliguri Journalists Club.

According to reports, the carnival is scheduled to take place on March 1, 2, and 3 at Lataguri, Jaldhaka, and Mirik respectively exhibiting tradition, culture, and art. Additionally, the formation of a separate tourism development board focusing on the Dooars will be introduced during the carnival.

In this regard, the president of the organization, Raj Basu, stated that Lataguri, Mirik, and Jaldhaka are traditional tourist destinations. However, their value is diminishing as new tourist destinations emerge. To revitalize these destinations, these three locations have been chosen for the carnival. He added that various programs have been planned for these locations throughout the course of three days.
