Jalpaiguri, 31st December: State Chief Electoral Officer Ariz Aftab arrived in Jalpaiguri and held a special review meeting along with the administrative officials of five districts of North Bengal regarding the illustrated voter list.
The meeting was held at Jalpaiguri DM’s office on Thursday morning. Various administrative officials and election officials including District Magistrates of Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong were present during the 4-hour long meeting.
After the meeting, Chief Electoral Officer Ariz Aftab said that work is being carried out regarding the voter list summary revision. He said that a meeting was held with the DMs of five districts of North Bengal today to prepare for the upcoming assembly elections and to review the illustrated voter list summary revision. He said that the final voter list would be published on January 15.
