Special train arrives at NJP station with 152 Sikkim citizens

Siliguri, 14th May: Keeping in mind the helpless situation of the people of Sikkim stranded across the country, the Northeast Frontier Railway has arranged special train services to help them reach home amid the ongoing lockdown.


Sikkim Nationalized Transport (SNT) official Bhipendra Chettri stated that a special train carrying 152 residents of Sikkim arrived at the NJP station on Thursday. All the people were thermally screened after getting off the train. The luggage of all the passengers was thoroughly sanitized before entering the station premises and sanitizers were also provided to them. Apart from this, the detailed information of all the people was also noted by the SNT officials.

Following this, buses were arranged for the travelers to help them reach their respective homes in Sikkim and will be further kept in a quarantine center for the next few days.
