Siliguri, 14th June: Siliguri MLA and West Bengal Minister Shankar Ghosh heard grievances from residents during the ‘Sorasori Shankar’ programme held at the YMA Ground in Babupara on Sunday. Over a hundred people attended the event and brought forward a range of civic and personal issues.
Residents submitted complaints related to alleged land grabbing, illegal construction, and various public service concerns. The minister listened to each complaint individually and assured attendees that appropriate action would be taken after a thorough examination of the matters raised.
Several participants also alleged irregularities, including land grabbing, against certain Trinamool Congress leaders and activists. Responding to these concerns, Shankar Ghosh said the allegations would be looked into seriously.
Speaking at the programme, the minister announced that the ‘Sorasori Shankar’ initiative would be held every month to provide residents with a direct platform to communicate their problems and seek timely solutions.
He further stated that the objective of the programme is to ensure quicker resolution of public grievances through direct interaction with citizens.
