Snake venom worth 13 crore rupees recovered in Jalpaiguri, one arrested

Jalpaiguri, 10th September: Snake venom worth 13 crore rupees was recovered before it could be smuggled. One person, identified as Salin Akhtar Mandu was arrested in the incident. He is a resident of Uttar Dinajpur.


It has been learned that the forest workers of Gorumara Wildlife Branch arrested a smuggler from Jalpaiguri Gorumara National Park area. Snake venom in three Belgian crystal glass jars was recovered from his possession. He was produced at the Jalpaiguri district court today.

In this regard, Assistant government lawyer Sindhu Roy said that the arrested accused has been taken into remand for 6 days by the Gorumara Wildlife Department.


Meanwhile, lawyer Sandeep Dutta said that there are allegations against him for smuggling snake venom.
