SMC provides facilities to the Conservancy Workers – the Coronavirus Warriors

Siliguri, 28th March: The nation is under 21-day lockdown to combat against the Coronavirus outbreak. Amid this, the Siliguri Municipality Corporation’s Conservancy workers, acting as ‘Coronavirus Warriors’, are clearing garbage and sanitizing various public places and residential areas to contain the spread in Siliguri.



The SMC Mayor Asoke Bhattacharya, on Saturday, informed that the Conservancy workers will be provided with extra 100 rupees per month as well as lunch allowance for at least two months. As per the Mayor, the 10 kg rice supplied to the workers per month as a social pension, has been increased to 15 kg per month.
