Siliguri, 19th August: The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) celebrated Raksha Bandhan organised in the vicinity of Bagajatin Park.
The festival was inaugurated by Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb, who lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the beginning of the celebrations. The event was attended by several key figures, including SMC Chairman Pratul Chakraborty, MMIC members and Ward Councillors Dulal Dutta, Mili Sinha, Gargi Chatterjee, Shova Subba, and others.
During the event, the dignitaries exchanged rakhi with each other, tied rakhi on passersby and offered sweets. Mayor Gautam Deb stated that this initiative aims to uphold unity and harmony in Bengal.
