Siliguri, 22nd October: Preparations for Kali Puja have begun at Nabin Sangha in Ward No. 15 of Siliguri with a ‘Khutti Puja’ ceremony. The club is set to celebrate its 56th year of Kali Puja this year, with a special theme highlighting the lifestyle, culture and traditions of ancient times.
The puja pandal will showcase aspects of life and heritage dating back approximately 4,000 to 5,000 years, offering visitors a glimpse into the way people lived in the distant past.
Special lighting arrangements by artists from Chandannagar will add to the attraction of the puja premises. Various cultural programmes have also been planned as part of the celebrations.
Alongside the festivities, the organisers will arrange free meals for underprivileged people. They also plan to distribute new clothes to schoolchildren as part of their community initiatives.
