Siliguri’s Sunandan Dey receives Rashtriya Prerna Doot Award for voluntary social service

Siliguri, 05th February: In a significant achievement, Sunandan Dey of Siliguri received the prestigious Rashtriya Prerna Doot Award for his voluntary social service at various levels of society.


According to reports, on February 3, the Rashtriya Prerna Doot Award 2023-24 was organized at Chhapra in Bihar where representatives of 22 states including West Bengal, Gujarat, Kerala, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh were present. 

It is to be noted that the award is specifically given for contribution in several fields including social service work at various levels of society including sapling plantation, voluntary blood donation, clothes distribution, working for specially-abled, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, cleanliness drive for rivers, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and others.


Significantly, Sunandan Dey, a resident of Siliguri also participated in the event. Reportedly, Sunandan is an NSS (National Service Scheme) volunteer of Unit-II of Surya Sen Mahavidyalaya in Siliguri.

On Monday evening, he arrived in Siliguri. During this, he was received with a warm welcome. Sunandan’s family, including the locals, were elated upon his arrival after receiving the award.
