Siliguri youth detained for impersonating as a health worker to circumvent lockdown

Siliguri, 12th May: A youth, on Tuesday morning, was detained at the Mahatma Gandhi Chowk (Air View More) area for allegedly impersonating as a health worker to avoid the lockdown restrictions.


As per the information, an ‘On Emergency Medical Duty’ sticker was pasted on the youth’s motorcycle. Upon asking for his identity card, he failed to show one and started making up excuses. He was then arrested by the police.

Following this event, the Panitanki Outpost Police launched several operations at the MG Chowk area today and took stern actions against the lockdown violators.


Several vehicles were also detained by the police.
