Siliguri, 06th May: A husband and mother-in-law have been detained on charges of domestic violence. The incident surfaced from the Ashighar area under Bhaktinagar police station of Siliguri.
According to sources, in 2017 the victim, Nisha Saha married Samar Saha, a resident of Ashighar. They have a toddler of one and a half years old. Samar Saha is a school teacher by profession. Locals alleged that Nisha was often tortured by her husband and her mother-in-law Radharani Saha after a year of marriage. As usual, a dispute started between them this morning and the locals heard Nisha cry for help. They immediately informed the Ashighar Police Out Post.
Upon receiving the news, police personnel reached the spot and entered the house along with the locals. All were stunned to find Nisha lying on the floor with both her hands and feet tied up. Her face was also swollen up. Nisha was rushed to the hospital. On the other hand, the police arrested Samar Saha and Radharani Saha.
Nisha alleged that her husband and mother-in-law tied her limbs and started brutally beating her for delay in serving food, this morning. However, Nisha’s mother-in-law denied all allegations. Police are investigating into the matter.
