Siliguri, 02nd September: The Siliguri Unique Foundation extended a helping hand to Nepal amid the devastating flash floods, with a three-member team travelling from Siliguri to the neighbouring country to assist in rescue and relief operations.
On August 30, the three-member team reached Nepal and first visited Kathmandu before travelling to Nuwakot district. The team inspected several flood-affected areas and assessed the situation on the ground.
The members of the Unique Foundation then joined hands with the Nepal Army to participate in rescue and relief efforts. They also helped residents clean their homes that had been filled with mud and debris following the floods.
In addition, relief materials were distributed among 50 flood-affected families.
Speaking on behalf of the Unique Foundation, Shakti Pal said that the organisation’s primary objective was to stand by the people of Nepal during this difficult time. He added that the organisation remains ready to extend assistance as needed.
