Siliguri, 01st September: BJP leader Nantu Paul has once again courted controversy after allegedly getting into a physical altercation with his own party worker in Ward No. 12 of Siliguri on Tuesday.
According to reports, Paul had arrived at a cleanliness campaign in the ward along with other BJP workers. A section of local BJP workers alleged that Paul had not been actively present in the ward earlier and that his sudden arrival at the programme created confusion among party workers.
The dispute reportedly escalated over the issue, following which Paul allegedly lost his temper. A heated argument between Paul and a party worker subsequently turned into a physical altercation.
The incident has reportedly created an uncomfortable situation within the BJP and sparked discussion in political circles in Siliguri.
