Siliguri Schoolgirl Murder Case: Accused produced in court amidst tight security

Siliguri, 01st September: The accused involved in the brutal murder of a schoolgirl in Siliguri was produced before the Siliguri Court by the police. It has to be noted that the accused MD Abbas was once again produced before the court after the completion of 10-day police remand.


As per reports, on Friday morning, security measures were heightened in the court premises. Earlier, when the accused was produced before the court on August 22, a tense atmosphere prevailed in the court premises.

According to police sources, the accused revealed the details of the incident during the 10-day remand. The accused admitted that he had been friends with the student for about four months. On the day of the incident, he awaited to drop off the schoolgirl from her school near the Siliguri Police Commissionerate. Upon her arrival, he took the minor girl to a location in Matigara and tried to sexually assault her. As the girl resisted his ill intentions, MD Abbas attacked the schoolgirl with a brick and escaped from the scene.


In this regard, the Police had registered cases of murder and the POCSO Act against the accused MD Abbas. Today, after the completion of the remand period the accused was once again produced before the court where the judge directed a 4-day police remand.
