Siliguri, 02nd September: A program was organized under the aegis of Bhaktinagar police station to commemorate Police Day. Siliguri Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma graced the program as the chief guest. During this, the Commissioner of Police handed over the study materials to the school children with his own hands. Regarding the event, Gaurav Sharma said that Police Day was celebrated across the state on September 01.
It is to be noted that, during the time of the Covid Pandemic, the policemen worked selflessly day and night leaving aside their worries for their families. They served their duty to protect society during difficult situations by creating awareness among the common mass. In view of this selfless service of the police, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced to celebrate September 01 of the year 2020 as Police Day.
