Siliguri, 05th September: The birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was celebrated with full respect across the country as well as in Siliguri. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was the former President and the first Vice President of India, a philosopher, and a recipient of Bharat Ratna. His birthday is observed as Teacher’s Day.
Radhakrishnan’s birth anniversary was observed in the Siliguri Municipal Corporation. Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb, Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, Pratul Chakraborty, Commissioner Sonam Wangdi Bhutia, and others paid tribute to Dr. Radhakrishnan by offering garlands on his picture. In this regard, Mayor Goutam Deb said that the Municipal Corporation takes pride to honor such a great personality.
