Siliguri, 12th August: Siliguri Municipal Corporation held a meeting with the puja committee in regard to the most awaited festival of the state. The SMC discussed the preparations for the Puja with the committees of the city in the Ramkinkar Hall in Siliguri. Due to the pandemic, the budget was quite strict in the last two years of the Durga Puja but this year Siliguri Municipal Corporation has resolved to conduct eco-friendly puja.
Reportedly, the Durga Puja will also be organized in Siliguri through cultural programs on the basis of the Carnival of Kolkata. Apart from this, Puja Guiding Map will also be released for the convenience of the visitors and soon an app named ‘Public Helping App’ will be started. Apart from this, surveillance will be done through CCTV. Also, two helpline numbers have been provided by the Siliguri Fire Department.

During this, about 150 puja committee members of the city including DCP Joy Tudu, Mayor Goutam Deb, Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, and Municipal Commissioner Sonam Wangdi Bhutia were present.
