Siliguri, 12th May: Charges have been raised against a man, identified as Dipankar Dey for harassing his wife Lakshmi Mukherjee and also threatening to sell their 4-month-old child. The horrifying news surfaced from the Matigara Rana basty area.
As per the report, Lakshmi and Dipankar got married several years ago and have a 4-month-old baby. According to Lakshmi, she was often harrassed by her husband who usually came home intoxicated and even used to threaten to sell their child.
On Monday too, drunk Dipankar physically attacked Lakshmi. He told her that he would sell their baby and then allegedly kicked her out of the house.
Lakshmi headed straight to her mother in Kulipara and then lodged a written complaint against her husband at the Matigara police station.
On the other hand, after several attempts to contact Dipankar Dey over the phone, no response has been received yet.
