Siliguri, 14th September: The Siliguri Greater Sri Sri Ganesh Puja was inaugurated on Sunday, a day ahead of the main Ganesh Puja festival.
The puja pandal has been decorated around an imaginative theme and began attracting visitors soon after the inauguration. Darjeeling MP Raju Bista inaugurated the puja, which has been organised through the joint efforts of the Bidhan Market Byabasayee Mancha and the Dooars Human Care Society.
Members of the puja committee and several other dignitaries were present during the inauguration ceremony. A large number of visitors subsequently gathered at the pandal to take part in the festivities and offer prayers.
Several social and cultural programmes have also been planned as part of the celebrations. According to the puja committee, the event aims not only to celebrate Ganesh Puja but also to promote social responsibility and community participation.
