Siliguri, 13th September: Work on the four-lane road project in Siliguri is progressing, with one lane at Darjeeling More scheduled to open for traffic on September 20. The opening is expected to ease traffic congestion at Darjeeling More and improve movement towards Matigara via Mallaguri.
Darjeeling MP Raju Bista visited Darjeeling More on Sunday to inspect the ongoing road construction work. During the visit, he spoke with engineers and took stock of the progress of the project.
Following the inspection, Bista said that one lane would be opened for traffic from September 20. According to the engineers, work on the lane is nearing completion and the remaining work is expected to be completed within the next few days.
