Siliguri, 31st August: Siliguri Divisional Court employees have started a protest in demand of payment of the outstanding balance of DA. The protest was carried out peacefully without disrupting the work of the court.
The members of the Court Employees Association stated that 31 percent of DA is due. The High Court had also directed the government to pay the outstanding amount within the span of three months which already lapsed on 15th August.
Allegedly, the state government is not taking any initiative to pay the outstanding DA of the said employees. This has led them to protest and start an agitation in a peaceful manner under the banner of the organization. The said employees and members of the organization warned of staging a mass agitation if the demands are not met soon.
