Siliguri, 07th August: Borough Committee No. 3 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation launched a campaign against banned plastic today. On behalf of the committee this morning, a campaign was conducted in Siliguri’s Rathkhola market and Subhashpally. Plastics were recovered from some shops. Apart from this, they also put up stickers in the shops and made the buyers and shopkeepers aware of plastic use.
Chairperson of Siliguri Municipal Corporation Pratul Chakraborty, Chairperson of No. 3 Borough Committee Milli Sinha, Councilor of Ward No. 23 Lakshmi Paul, and others were present during the campaign.
Milli Sinha, talked about how the people in the city have become more aware of the issue. She further added that an awareness campaign is being run not only in Siliguri but across the state about the use of plastic. She said that by running this kind of campaign, people are being made aware of the use of plastic.
