Rajganj, 19th June: Rajnikant Roy, Trinamool Congress leader and Upa Pradhan of Shikarpur Gram Panchayat, was arrested in Rajganj on Friday morning.
Police from Belakoba Outpost under Rajganj Police Station arrested him during an ongoing investigation.
According to police sources, a case was registered in connection with a 2025 incident involving vandalism at a tourist lodge in Rajganj and an attack on a police vehicle. It is alleged that police personnel were obstructed and the police vehicle was also attacked during the incident.
Following investigation, police arrested Rajnikant Roy on Friday. He was later produced before the Jalpaiguri court.
