Rajganj, 15th August: Preparations for the 70th-year Durga Puja celebrations of Rajganj’s Sree Sangha Club began on Independence Day with the traditional ‘Khutti Puja’ ceremony.
Sree Sangha Club has been organising high-budget, theme-based Durga Puja celebrations for several years, and this year is no exception. According to the club authorities, the Puja pandal will feature special attractions along with elaborate lighting arrangements.
The estimated budget for this year’s celebrations is around ₹7 lakh. Besides the religious rituals, various cultural programmes have also been planned for visitors throughout the four-day festival.
The club authorities expect a large turnout from Rajganj and neighbouring areas during the Durga Puja festivities.
Sanjib Chowdhury, Arindam Banerjee, Sunil Chandra Das, Satyam Dutta, Shankar Roy, Soma Banerjee, Rakhi Dutta, Pompi Hore and Riya Dutta were among those present at the Khutti Puja ceremony.
