Siliguri, 26th August: The Police of Siliguri Metropolitan Police’s Panitanki Outpost has once again busted an illicit business disguised as a spa. The police arrested one person and rescued three women while conducting an operation at a spa on Sevoke Road last night. The alleged accused has been identified as Amit Sheetal. Today, the alleged accused along with the three women have been produced in the Siliguri Court.
Reportedly, the police got a tip-off about the illicit business of prostitution running in the guise of spa name Elite at a mall located on Sevoke Road. Acting on the tip-off the OC of the Panitanki Outpost launched a campaign in the spa. During this, the police arrested Amit Sheel who was a customer, and also rescued three women from the said spa.
According to information received from police sources, the owner of the spa is Rajesh Kumar Singh and is currently absconding. The police have started searching for him. It is to be noted that according to a directory of the Calcutta High Court, if a woman is found on the charge of prostitution in any spa or such business, then she will not be arrested. Therefore, the police of Panitanki outpost abiding by the directory of Kolkata High Court have shown the three women recovered from the spa in their action.
