Rajganj, 30th June: Continuous rainfall has led to severe waterlogging in several houses at Jummagach village under Sannyasikata Gram Panchayat in Rajganj block, causing immense hardship to local residents.
According to residents, rainwater has entered courtyards, living rooms, and even kitchens, severely affecting daily life. They alleged that the area lacks adequate drainage infrastructure, leading to recurring waterlogging during the monsoon season.
Locals claimed that there was previously a proper drainage outlet for rainwater, but the passage has now become blocked, resulting in the accumulation of water. They further alleged that despite repeatedly raising the issue with public representatives, no permanent solution has been implemented so far.
Residents stated that water entering their homes has disrupted their daily activities, particularly cooking. Parents have also expressed concern over the safety and well-being of young children living in the affected households.
The affected residents have demanded immediate measures to improve the drainage system to prevent such hardships during the monsoon season in the future.
