Security of NJP Station increased ahead of Independence Day

Siliguri, 12th August: After just a couple of days, the nation will be celebrating its 75 years of Independence. In view of this, security arrangements in the NJP Railway Station have been increased. The station was searched with metal detectors and dog squad to keep an eye on suspicious activity, on Friday.


 


During this RPF and GRP were also seen searching the bags of the passengers. The scanner machine installed at the entrance of the station has not been in use for the longest time and is been sitting idly. There is no security guard either. However, according to GRP sources, the railway department has been urged to set up two scanner machines for the station premises security.
