Phansidewa, 22nd April: With the first phase of polling scheduled tomorrow, final preparations are underway across polling stations in the region. A booth at Nikargachh Primary School in Phansidewa Assembly constituency, located along the India-Bangladesh border, has been identified as a sensitive polling station.
In previous elections, incidents of bogus voting and booth capturing were reported at such border booths, which were primarily monitored by state police. However, this time, the security arrangement has been significantly strengthened.
No state police personnel have been deployed at the booth, and instead, armed central forces have been stationed in advance. CCTV cameras have been installed for surveillance, and three paramilitary personnel have been deployed at each booth to ensure strict monitoring.
Officials stated that enhanced security measures at all sensitive booths will allow voters to cast their votes freely without fear or pressure.
