Phansidewa, 10th October: Renovation work on the rural road from Bidhannagar Bazar to Chiknamati in Phansidewa has begun under the WBSRDA project, with BJP MLA Durga Murmu laying the foundation stone for the work estimated to cost Rs 15.21 lakh.
The renovation follows the Chief Minister’s directive to repair roads during the Durga Puja period. Following the instruction, work on several roads across the subdivision has begun. Local residents expressed happiness after the foundation stone was laid for the road renovation.
According to reports, the road from Bidhannagar Bazar to Chiknamati had been in a dilapidated condition. Residents of 15 villages depend on this road, which also provides important access to a higher secondary school, a health centre, the market and banks.
The poor condition of the road had frequently led to accidents. Once the renovation is completed, local residents are expected to benefit from improved road conditions and safer travel.
