Siliguri, 04th April: A distressing incident came to light from Panchanan Colony of Ward No. 36 in Siliguri where a school teacher was allegedly assaulted for protesting against DJ music till midnight. The school teacher has been identified as Abhijit Sarkar.
As per details received, DJ music was being played at a residence in the said area at around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday. During this, Abhijit visited the house and requested them to stop the loud music. Subsequently, a few individuals pushed him to the street and allegedly assault him and dismantled his mobile phone.
Upon hearing the teacher’s scream, the locals arrived at the spot rescued him and admitted him to Siliguri District Hospital with severe injuries. Meanwhile, a written complaint has been lodged at the Ashighar Outpost.
