Naxalbari, 12th February: A Samajik Chetna Abhiyan (Social Awareness Campaign) was launched by the 8th Battalion of SSB at the Suraj Bagh Primary School in Kilaram Jote of Naxalbari Block. The Samajik Chetna Abhiyan 2019-20 was launched under the theme of “Beti Bachao – Beti Padhao”, “Swachh Bharat Mission”, and the development work and community welfare programme on the theme of One India Excellence. Cultural programmes and various sports competitions were organized to promote the “Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao” drive.
The Naxalbari BDO Bapi Dhar, Panchayat Pradhan, Deputy Pradhan, Chairman of the Panchayat Samiti, SSB DIG Amit Kumar, Commandant Arun Kumar, Assistant Commandant Deepak Tomar and many other dignitaries were present during the event. Stalls from various departments were also set up under the Samajik Chetna Abhiyan. A health camp was also organized during the event.
