Rice-laden truck catches fire at Banglabandha parking lot, driver injured

Rajganj, 12th September: A sudden fire broke out in a rice-laden truck at Banglabandha-Fulbari immigration check post, creating a stir in the area. The truck driver, Jagbandhu Roy of Sonapur area, sustained injuries in the fire.


According to the information, a truck laden with rice was heading to Bangladesh from India and has made a stop at the Banglabandha parking lot. The truck’s cabin apparently caught fire while the driver was cooking on a stove. The fire gradually spread to the rice stored in the vehicle, injuring the truck driver. Upon spotting the fire, the people nearby rescued the driver and rushed him to a private hospital in Fulbari. 

Meanwhile, Fulbari Truck Owners Association secretary Shubhankar Naskar said that the truck was parked in the Banglabandha parking lot while on its way to Bangladesh. The truck caught fire while cooking food at around 12 noon today. Due to which the truck driver was seriously injured.
