Residents of Siliguri’s Thakurnagar area in distress over water crisis 

Siliguri, 10th September: The residents of the Thakurnagar area in Siliguri are facing a potable water crisis. Primary school students are also troubled and upset due to the lack of water. Despite having taps and water containers and proper water systems, people are still longing for water in the said area. 


Locals said that tap connections have been provided in everyone’s house but the scarcity of water has been troubling them. Even after informing the local head about the matter, the problem was not resolved. The locals have expressed their displeasure and anguish over this.

In this regard, Sudha Singh Chatterjee, head of Dabgram No. 2 Zone said that despite having a water system, the residents of the Thakurnagar area are deprived of drinking water due to certain problems.


Dabgram Fulbari MLA Shikha Chatterjee said that the state government has failed to utilize the money for the betterment of people despite the amount allocated by the Centre. Hence the residents are facing the problem of water. She has requested to solve the said problem at the earliest.
