Raksha Bandhan observed on behalf of Siligur’s Ward No. 28 Trinamool Congress Committee

Siliguri, 11th August: Siliguri Municipal Corporation’s Ward No. 28 Trinamool Congress observed Raksha Bandhan by tying rakhis to the business people and the passers-by on the street in front of NTS More. They also served sweets to commemorate the special day of rakhi.

The programme commenced with Councillor Samprita Das tying rakhi on the wrist of Darjeeling District Trinamool General Secretary Madan Bhattacharya. Speaking on the occasion, Madan Bhattacharya said that the ward is one of the most neglected and disregarded wards in the Siliguri Municipal Corporation. No such festivals like rakhi were observed in the past, but due to the efforts of councillor Samprita Das the festival was celebrated this year.
