Rajganj, 01st May: Rajganj police station IC Amitava Das once again extended help to a two-year-old girl suffering from Thalassemia by donating blood. The officer donated B-negative blood for the fourth time for the child, continuing his consistent support for the patient.
According to information, the child from Dhupguri requires regular blood transfusions due to her medical condition. While serving earlier as Jalpaiguri Sadar Traffic IC, Amitava Das came to know about the child’s critical need for blood and has been supporting the family whenever required since then.
On Friday, after completing election-related duties, he directly visited the blood bank at Jalpaiguri Medical College and Hospital and voluntarily donated blood for the child. Despite his official responsibilities, his gesture once again provided relief and emotional support to the family.
Family members said that arranging blood of a rare group is often extremely difficult, and the IC has repeatedly stepped forward during crucial moments, becoming a dependable support for them.
