Siliguri, 19th September: A Rozgar Mela was organised at a private hotel in Matigara block under the Matigara-Naxalbari Assembly constituency on Saturday, where Union Food Processing Industries Minister Chirag Paswan handed over appointment letters to 85 selected candidates from West Bengal, Bihar, Assam and Uttar Pradesh.
The programme was organised as part of the Rozgar Mela held across the country, during which appointment letters were handed over to more than 51,000 youths for various government organisations on September 19.
Addressing the programme, Chirag Paswan said the Rozgar Mela is an important platform in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to providing employment opportunities to the country’s youth. He said the initiative seeks to connect young people with employment opportunities while making them participants in the journey towards building a ‘Viksit Bharat’.
Addressing the newly appointed youths, the Union Minister said government employment would not only bring changes to their personal lives but also enable them to play an important role in the development of the country. He urged them to discharge their responsibilities with dedication and commitment.
During an interaction with the media, Paswan was asked about the arrest of a Congress candidate in connection with a by-election in Bengal. He said an arrest is part of the legal process and that an innocent person has nothing to fear. He added that if anyone is found guilty during the investigation and judicial process, action would be taken against them in accordance with Indian law.
Through the Rozgar Mela, appointment letters were handed over to 85 youths from four states, while the programme also conveyed a message encouraging young people to contribute to the country’s development and the goal of a ‘Viksit Bharat’.
