Jalpaiguri, 20th September: A young man was found dead near a tea garden in the Berubari area of Jalpaiguri on Sunday morning. The deceased has been identified as Manojit Roy. The incident has caused a stir in the area.
According to reports, locals spotted a bike lying by the roadside and, upon checking, found the young man’s body nearby. They immediately informed the police.
Police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem examination.
Family members said Manojit had visited a relative’s house on Saturday night and was expected to return home on his bike. However, when he failed to return, his family began searching for him.
Locals suspect that Manojit may have lost control of his motorcycle while negotiating a turn on the village road late at night, resulting in an accident. He is believed to have died at the spot.
Police have initiated an investigation to determine the exact circumstances leading to his death.
