Rajganj, 23rd August: BJP State Vice-President Deepen Pramanik, BJP Yuva Morcha Jalpaiguri District President Shyam Prasad and Rajganj block leaders met the mourning family of the deceased gang-rape and murder victim in Rajganj.
In this context, Pramanik stated that he wanted to meet the deceased’s family members and hear the whole incident from them. Following this, he stated that a report concerning the matter will be sent to the state as well as the central leaders and will also be reported to the District Magistrate.
Pramanik alleged that the police have slowed down the investigation process and highly condemned it.
It is to recall that a minor girl who was a resident of Lal School Balabari area under Sannyasikata Gram Panchayat of Rajganj went missing on August 10. Unable to find her, the deceased’s family lodged a complaint at the Rajganj police station.
Based on the complaint, the Police, under the leadership of CI Dipajjal Bhowmick, launched an investigation and got hold of all the three accused, identified as Rahman Ali (30), Jamirul Haque (28), and Tamirul Haque (32), on Thursday.
During the police interrogation, the arrested individuals confessed that they gang-raped the minor multiple times, killed her and then dumped her in a septic tank on August 15. Based on the confession, the body was recovered later that night from the septic tank of a resident of the Pradhanpara area.
