Rajganj, 16th September: The Rajganj Block Administration held a meeting with Durga Puja committees at the Kanyashree Bhavan of the Rajganj BDO office on Wednesday to discuss Puja permissions and administrative guidelines ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations.
The meeting was attended by Rajganj BDO Suvankar Das, Rajganj Police Station IC Amitava Das, officials from the electricity department and fire department, and the Rajganj Traffic OC.
During the meeting, Puja committees were briefed about the process of obtaining permission, electricity and fire safety clearances, police approval and other administrative requirements. The committees were also cautioned against the use of DJs and intoxicating substances to ensure the celebrations are conducted peacefully.
Rajganj BDO Suvankar Das said the Puja committees were given a preliminary understanding of the process through which permission is granted by the administration. He added that another meeting would be held once all government guidelines are received, following which necessary instructions would be issued to the committees.
The administration also cautioned Puja committees against using DJs at Puja venues and during processions. Officials stated that legal action could be taken if DJs are found being used during processions.
The administration further said that the Puja committees are aware of the directions issued by the Chief Minister and are expected to follow them. The committees were also warned against the use of any intoxicating or narcotic substances at Puja venues.
