Siliguri, 16th September: Siliguri Police have arrested two miscreants for allegedly breaking into a house and stealing gold jewellery and cash while the house was unoccupied. The arrested individuals have been identified as Akash Saha and Bijoy Kumar Das, both residents of the Rabindra Nagar area of Siliguri.
According to information, Kalpana Saha, a resident of Aurobindo Pally in Siliguri, left the city on September 7. When she returned home on September 10, she found the lock on the main door broken. After entering the house, she also found the almirah broken and realised that a theft had taken place.
Kalpana Saha alleged that around 25 grams of gold jewellery and Rs 20,000 in cash were stolen from her house. She subsequently lodged a written complaint at Siliguri Police Station.
Based on the complaint, police launched an investigation and arrested the two accused. They were produced before the Siliguri court on Wednesday.
