Siliguri, 31st October: A grand procession was organised in Siliguri to mark the centenary celebration of Anandamoyee Kalibari, witnessing a rare display of political leaders from different parties coming together despite their differing ideologies.
Among those who participated in the procession were former minister and former Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb, Trinamool Congress leader Sankar Malakar, and Siliguri MLA and Tourism Minister Shankar Ghosh.
The sight of leaders from different political parties walking side by side drew considerable attention from onlookers and became one of the major highlights of the celebration.
The centenary celebration held significance not only for its religious importance but also for the display of political courtesy, as leaders set aside their party differences to participate in the same procession.
