Siliguri, 31st October: Matigara Police arrested a youth and recovered 61 grams of brown sugar from his possession in the Matigara Bypass area. The arrested youth has been identified as Suman Saha, a resident of Vishwas Colony in Matigara, Siliguri.
According to police sources, the accused was allegedly present in the area on Saturday afternoon with the intention of buying and selling brown sugar. Acting on a tip-off, police launched an operation and detained him on suspicion. A search led to the recovery of 61 grams of brown sugar.
According to police, the accused had previously been arrested in connection with alleged drug trafficking. A case has been registered against him under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
Police will produce the accused before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Sunday. Further investigation is underway.
