Siliguri, 05th September: Pradhan Nagar Police conducted a late-night raid in the Rajendra Nagar area of Ward No. 01 in Siliguri and recovered a large quantity of illegal liquor. A youth was arrested in connection with the operation, while a scooty allegedly used for transporting the liquor was also seized.
According to police sources, plainclothes personnel from Pradhan Nagar Police conducted the raid in Rajendra Nagar late at night based on information received by the police. During the operation, 21-year-old Nikhil Kumar Sahani, a resident of Rajendra Nagar, was detained.
During the search, a large quantity of liquor was recovered from his possession without valid documents. Police seized the liquor along with the scooter allegedly used for its transportation.
Following the incident, a case was registered at Pradhan Nagar Police Station under relevant sections. The arrested accused was produced before the Siliguri court on Saturday. Police are currently investigating the matter.
