Jalpaiguri, 20th June: A woman was severely injured after a portion of Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital’s roof collapsed. An atmosphere of fear spread among the people in the hospital.
As per the report, Sangeeta Biswas, a resident of Shilpa Samiti Para Jalpaiguri, was tending her child who was admitted to the Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital on June 18.
The woman’s husband Sameer Kumar Biswas alleged that despite being one of the most important ward, the hospital’s Children’s Ward is lying is a deplorable condition. He stated that his wife narrowly escaped death. He further said that he will report the matter to the health department of Jalpaiguri district.
Meanwhile, Chief Health Official (Jalpaiguri) Dr Ramendranath Pramanik claimed to have no knowledge of the incident and assured to investigate the matter.
