Politicians and social workers meet homeless families along Mahananda riverbanks, blankets distributed

Siliguri, 02nd December: Several people have become homeless after the administration ran bulldozers over encroached land a few days ago on the banks of Mahananda River in Ward No. 02 and 03 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation. The event has, however, intensified the political activity in the city.


Numerous political parties, as well as social workers, are being spotted visiting the homeless people ever since the event. In one such episode, many BJP workers including Siliguri social worker Sanjay Mittal, Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh, BJP leader Kanhaiya Pathak, Binod Gupta reached the aforementioned area today and took stock of the situation. While they exchanged a few conversations with the homeless, blankets were distributed to more than 400 people.
