Phansidewa, 25th June: Phansidewa Police seized a sand-laden dumper during an operation against the illegal transportation of sand in the Bhatanjote area of Phansidewa block.
According to reports, police received a tip-off that sand was being illegally extracted and transported from a river in the area. Acting on the information, police launched an operation and intercepted a dumper loaded with sand.
However, the driver managed to flee the spot before he could be apprehended. The vehicle was subsequently seized and taken to Phansidewa Police Station.
Police have initiated an investigation to identify those involved in the alleged illegal sand smuggling operation.
