Phansidewa, 09th September: Police have arrested two youths in Phansidewa block in connection with the alleged rape of a 14-year-old minor girl. According to the complaint, a 22-year-old youth allegedly raped the minor, while another youth allegedly assisted in the incident.
The matter came to light after the minor’s physical condition deteriorated, following which her family learned about the alleged incident. The family subsequently lodged a complaint at Phansidewa Police Station.
Based on the complaint, police launched an investigation and arrested the two accused, identified as Mohammad Ashraf and Mohammad Hamidul.
The minor has been sent to a home for the time being, while both accused were produced before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Wednesday. Police are continuing their investigation into the case.
