Siliguri, 24th February: Police launched operations to clear Siliguri of traffic jams. The operation was carried out by various traffic guards on Thursday.
The Panitanki Traffic Guard conducted an operation in Hillcart Road and Hospital more area on Thursday afternoon.
Several encroachments were cleared by the police and Junction Traffic Guard and continuous operations will be conducted to clear roads and footpaths.
On the other hand, many people expressed their displeasure over the police operation. The hawkers demanded that their shops be set up elsewhere.
