People crowd in Siliguri Gate Bazar market ignoring lockdown

Siliguri, 01st April: Siliguri along with the entire country is under 21-day lockdown to contain the spread of the Novel Coronavirus. Situation intensified after a woman infected with COVID-19 died at the North Bengal Medical College-Hospital recently.


Despite this, several people are still being sighted on the streets, deliberately ignoring the lockdown.


As per the report, people are gathering at the Siliguri Gate Bazar area and hoarding commodities in the market area without maintaining social distance (a minimum of 1 m) and are in close contact with each other.
Besides, e-rickshaws (Toto) and rickshaws were spotted on the market premises.
