Siliguri, 19th September: A case of miscreants attacking the locals of Siliguri’s Shantinagar with sharp weapons in the dark night has come to the fore. The incident occurred on Sunday night, leaving the area’s residents in panic.
According to local sources, during the wee hours on Sunday night in the Shantinagar area, many people in an intoxicated state came in front of a house and started abusing them verbally. When the locals protested, a gang of 20-25 people came with sharp weapons and attacked them. Things took a worse turn when the women became victims of the miscreants’ attack.
The miscreants also allegedly robbed gold jewelry from some of the women. After the incident, the locals lodged a written complaint against several people at Ashighar Out-post. However, no one has been caught yet, leaving the area’s residents more tense and anxious.
